New Fairfield Rebels Travel Softball

Program Details

New Fairfield Travel Softball restarted in Spring 2024 for the first time since 2018. We had one team at 8U participating in the Spring GHVSL season and the Babe Ruth Softball Connecticut State Tournament. In Fall 2024, a 14U team was added. This upcoming Spring, we are fielding an 8U team in the GHVSL for a total of three travel teams.

Travel softball is for fully committed players looking for a more competitive environment than recreational softball. The teams will participate in leagues, tournaments and training from September-July. We play a competitive schedule with local teams and will also play in-state and out-of-state tournaments.

There is no cost to register. Fees will be due once a player is offered a roster spot and will be determined once a budget is set for each season. Installment plans are available.

Accomplishments

Fall 2024

10U Finishes in 2nd Place in Southwest Connecticut Fastpitch League (SWCTFL) Silver Division

Entering as the #4 seed by finishing the regular season 3-2-1, the Rebels lost their first game of the double elimination playoff before rebounding to win four straight. This earned them a spot in the league final where they beat the undefeated Fury, forcing a winner take all final game. Unable to win the comeback game, the girls earned 2nd place for the season and coming home with runners-up trophies!

Spring & Summer 2024

8U Runners-up in GHVSL Spring Season

8U Participated in the first GHVSL 8U Championship Game, but fell to New Rochelle.

8U Finishes 3rd in Babe Ruth State Tournament

8U made it to the elimination bracket final of the Babe Ruth Softball Connecticut State Tournament finishing behind Norwalk and Stamford Red.

8U Participates in RI Crush "Queen of the Hill" Tournament

The girls competed against some of the top softball clubs in RI and the surrounding region. After going 1-2 in pool play and earning the #7 seed of 12 teams, they advanced to the quarterfinals before falling to the eventual tourney champions. Their only losses were to the two teams playing in the championship game. It was a great showing from our resurgent program.
